TryVote Nigeria
How It Works

A simple mock vote, with clear limits.

TryVote is designed to make civic participation easy to understand without pretending to be an official election or scientific poll.

1. Confirm you are 18+

Before entering the voting flow, you confirm that you are 18 years or older. This is a self-attestation only; TryVote does not require a date of birth or government ID for the mock vote.

2. Choose your state

Your state selection determines which governorship simulation you see and allows public participation results to be grouped by state. FCT participants are shown the presidential simulation only because the FCT does not elect a state governor.

3. Choose your mock candidates

You select a presidential candidate and, where applicable, a governorship candidate. Candidate information is intended to reflect reliable currently published election information and can be updated as official lists change.

4. Submit once from your browser

TryVote uses anti-abuse measures such as a browser marker, short-lived signed challenges and rate limiting to reduce repeat or automated submissions while avoiding collection of a personal voter profile.

5. See aggregate results

Accepted submissions contribute to public aggregate totals. Results can be viewed nationally and, where relevant, by state. Individual voter identities are not displayed.

6. Keep the simulation in perspective

TryVote participation is voluntary and self-selected. The results are not representative scientific polling, do not predict official outcomes, and have no legal effect.

The point: TryVote aims to turn online political conversation into greater civic interest — staying informed, registering when eligible, collecting a PVC and participating in official elections.
